Location

The port is located on the northern part of Suez Gulf on the southern gate of Suez Canal. it is bordered by an imaginary line extending from Ras Masala to Ras El-Sadat . It includes the northern coast until Suez Canal entrance.

The boundaries of Ataka Port are delimited by the port breakwaters.
The water out of the boundaries of Ibrahim Dock, Petroleum Dock, Ataka Port, Adabiya Port and New Petroleum Bert is within the Suez Canal values.

Navigation Rules

Approach Area

Vessels usually berth at the dwelling area. Dredging of the fairway at new Sakhra port and the coastal cape has rendered water depth consistent, estimated at 11.28 m. During tide, vessels up to 11.25 m. draft can approach the harbor during the flow taking the consideration that the draft not exceeding 12.19 m

Pilotage

Pilotage is compulsory, and it is monitored though radio (VHF – H/F) and electronic equipment (Radar Beacon).

Repairs

Dry Dock : 

Suez shipyard company operates inside the port and undertakes all repairs of vessels of different types and tonnage.
The company owns a dry dock (44*22m dimensions and draught 22 feet’s) for vessels of tonnage 50000 ton and loss.

Floating dock:

The mentioned company owns a floating dock for lifting vessels of tonnage 300000 ton and less and for partial lifting of vessels of tonnage 30000 ton and less, in addition to an equipped workshop for different repairs
